AJC POP UP SALON - COVENT GARDEN HOTEL

September 4, 2015

Last week, AJC held a #popupsalon at London’s Covent Hotel, showcasing some of the great Autumn Winter trends and products from our clients.

We were joined by top session and celebrity hair stylists Jason Collier (clients include Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller and Damian Lewis), Oscar Alexander (Sadie Frost, Aiden Turner and Gemma Chan) and Fiona Hutcheon from an amazing salon in Hackney called The Glasshouse, who were on hand to give our VIP guests hair consultations and product prescriptions. While Holly from Muse of London: Beauty treated everyone to seasonal mini manicures in some great autumnal colours with the new nude being the shade most wanted to try.

Suite 3 at the Covent Garden is a stunning room, clearly inspired by the brightly coloured works of Frida Kahlo which was made all the more apparent in the fashion photography displayed which paid homage to the artist, and it was quickly rearranged to create a pop-up salon with two hair stations and a nail bar.

Products from RUSH Salons at M&S, Original & Mineral, JOICO, OSMO, Hairaisers and H2D Electricals were displayed around the “salon” for the guests to try and the stylists to use.

Guests were welcomed with a glass of fizz and despite the current trend for sugar-free the bite-sized Lola’s cupcakes featuring the new AJC 93 logo were incredibly popular too.

The evening session ran from 4pm till 8pm and had a great “after work” vibe. Journalists, bloggers and influencers mingled, chatting about the products, and discussing the new “grown-up, undone trend” we have identified for this season (see next blog post).  While the morning session from 8am till noon was all about piping hot coffee, fruit juice and “office-ready” looks.

Twitter and Instagram were awash with images of freshly styled VIPs and the #popupsalon hashtag – thus declaring the event a resounding success.
